Multiresidential near Antwerp,  Belgium.

In this rural environment, the form is borrowed from the typography of the traditional farm shed and greenhouse which are part of the regions collective memory. Incorporating living in a recognisable form, at the same time actualising it.

Concept:  Smart Objects inserted into Perth's Business District.

At Allendale Square on St-Georges Terrace, right in the business heart of the Perth's CBD, two golden  'Smart Objects' are inserted with great street level appeal.

Breathing new air to the street scape, these objects hold boutique businesses, a coffee shop, a pop-up fashion store...

They stand as an intention to introduce smart objects all along the St-Georges Terrace axis... activating and energizing the city.

... Never enough good coffee places in Perth :)

Concept:  Duplex studio for a single person in Antwerp, Belgium.

The "eye" concept enables contact from bedroom to living area and assures privacy at the same time. The kitchen tablet is prolonged into the living area and ends as a shelve and works as step up to the open stairs.

Concept:  Proposal for a showroom in artificial grass.

The varieties of grass products are displayed on terraced surfaces, a big 'grass stair' that extend to the roof top. An architectural promenade.

The artificial grass is also used vertically on walls in niches of client areas.

Concept: This office building near Perth airport takes wings as it's concept, bringing the Wright Brothers back into what otherwise is a 'boxy' generic office landscape.

Concept: Ever wondered how a skyscraper is born? Emerging out of the city's public fabric, baby skyscraper is born.

Westralia Square is surrounded by very tall buildings not allowing for an extra highrise to appear, it would kill the scarse buplic space left.

Instead, this little 'baby skyscraper', just broken free from it's egg, allows for the public space to still thrive... it's just a peace of furniture, holding some boutique office spaces and small commercial spaces on a key location...

What caracterises Midland near Perth? Bricks !

Each appartment in this multiresidential development becomes a 'brick' in the total 'masonry' of the building, creating a chart of all available bricks from Midland.

Concept: Sometimes a project needs a banana!

In it's existing situation, this building has entry areas spread around the location on two streets and a car park entry in between.

We added the banana peel to tie these public functions together, creating flowing public space and a branding opportunity for the company

This multiresidential building on Stirling street in Northbridge/Perth follows the rock layered stratification of a river bed....

Concept:  Containers are prominent in the surroundings of Fort Knox in Fremantle.

This multiresidential development next to Fort Knox plays with containers, referring to the harbour activity it looks upon.

The 'containers' provide sun screening and mark entertainment areas on the balconies.

Concept: Headquarters for the WA  Alzheimers Association on the Curtin Uni campus.

Sliding  screens, like the famous Kewlox cabinets.

Concept:  Quick idea concept for the Reconversion of Perth's FESA Fire building to a Hotel.

How do you respect the brutalistic architecture of a heritage building while converting to a different function?. Not touching it's authenticity and at the same time adding  to it...?

In this proposal, a Virus is injected... a total contrasting volume is slid into the middle body of the building, revealing and marking the new public areas of the hotel (bar, restaurant, gym etc...).

The red (or any colour) volume consists of a metal mesh construction providing shade and a means to 'brand' the building with prints.

The added volume has a temporary feel to it, thus respecting the robust character of the original monument.

It's not FESA version v2 , it is FESA version v1+

Concept:  Competition Entry for Luxurious Resort Villas in Carmel California USA. Finalist and 2nd Prize winner.

The villas are concieved as open plan Californian 'Case Study ' type architecture, opening up towards and overlooking the vast valley.

Circulation is arranged as a vertical inserted volume, providing acces to a ZEN roof area.... aaaah relax :)
